I exercise 5 times a week and found the secret to feeling fresh despite sweating – Mothership.SG

Nothing beats the heady rush of endorphins after a really good workout.

That’s why I exercise and train up to five times a week, weather permitting.

But with every intense workout comes the possibility of body odor after sweating. And nobody likes to smell bad, do they?

If you’re in the same boat as me, here’s how I got out of funk.

What causes body odor?

First, it’s important to understand what’s causing the less-than-pleasant smell emanating from your body.

Body odor is the result of bacteria coming into contact with sweat molecules produced on the surface of your skin.

No matter how much antiperspirant you drench yourself in, it’s impossible not to sweat at all, especially in the hot and humid weather in Singapore.

How to eliminate body odor

What you can do that we may not pay enough attention to is reduce the bacteria on our skin.

This, my friends, is the secret sauce I would like to draw your attention to: ✨ Antibacterial products.✨

Using products with antibacterial properties helps reduce bacteria clinging to your clothes and body.

Want to keep the stench at bay?

Wash your clothes with antibacterial laundry capsules and before your workout take a shower with antibacterial shower gel.

To put this theory into practice, I used Walch® products before my training.

To be precise, I will test the two novelties of the best-selling brand: Walch® antibacterial laundry capsules and Walch® antibacterial shower gel with essential oils.

This antibacterial combination is perfect for killing bacteria and other germs that cling to your skin and clothes.

Beyond smelling good, we all know the importance of following good hygiene practices to ward off coronavirus after living with Covid-19 for two years.

Walch® antibacterial laundry capsules

The Walch® the antibacterial laundry capsule encloses blue and amber-gold liquid separately.

The blue substance is a concentrated laundry detergent and fabric softener, while the amber-gold liquid is a disinfectant with antiseptic properties that can kill up to 99.9*% of germs and coronaviruses, Walch® complaints.

Plus, the plant-based laundry capsule is free of harmful chemicals and contains no chlorine, parabens, phosphates, or phthalates.

Use laundry capsules to double the protection

Doing laundry is more convenient with the use of Walch® antibacterial laundry capsules.

Instead of measuring out my usual cocktail of laundry products — laundry detergent, fabric softener, and baking soda (to eliminate odors) — all I had to do was put a laundry pod in my empty washing machine before load it with my laundry and my job was done.

There is also no need to cut the wrapper, as the capsule dissolves as soon as it comes into contact with water.

The capsule, while tiny, certainly packs a punch.

Just one capsule had enough cleaning power to effectively remove stains from my clothes, including all the embarrassing telltale signs that I’m a messy eater.

Guess the laundry capsules certainly lived up to Walch®the claim of “9x cleaning power” indeed.

The laundry clothes had a light scent that reminded me of fresh pine, which smells good.

Walch® antibacterial shower gel with essential oils

Besides Walch®there is probably no other essential oil infused antibacterial body wash on the market.

The new Walch® The Antibacterial Body Wash comes in two options: Lavender or Tea Tree.

Like washing capsules, Walch® claims the plant-based body wash also kills 99.9%* of germs and is free of harmful ingredients like parabens and silicones.

Use of antibacterial shower gel with added essential oil

Lavender Antibacterial Body Wash has a soothing floral scent.

I imagine it would be good to use it before bed, as the lavender scent is known to have a calming effect, relieve stress and promote a better night’s sleep.

The Tea Tree Antibacterial Body Wash, on the other hand, would be better suited for use during the day as I found it to have a fresh, herbal, lemony scent.

Both body washes lather easily and my skin feels soft and hydrated after stepping out of the shower.

I also found that both scents linger on the body after use, almost like a light scent.

Walch Reviews® some products

Now is the time for the real test of these products by Walch®: How would I feel after a sweaty workout?

Video by Fiona Tan.

Before the training, I used the Walch® antibacterial essential oil body wash and put on the clothes I had washed with the Walch® antibacterial laundry capsules.

I stayed in my wet workout clothes for an entire day afterwards.

I did a quick sniff test at the end of the day and I’m happy to report that I didn’t smell bad.

I could also go about my day with confidence, knowing that I was protected from bad odors and nasty germs.

And now that the restrictions have eased, I can feel good and smell good and still have a good time.
